6 Habits of Very Stylish Men

habits of stylish men

No one is ever born stylish. It is a habit learned and maintained throughout life.

Some want it more, others less.

But, taking care of yourself and being stylish has its benefits.

As you aim to be better, while still maintaining your identity and being yourself, being stylish can only have positives in life.

Everyone likes to see well groomed and stylish men.

Rare are those that want sloppy, unkempt and not stylish men.

So here is a list of 6 habits that stylish men have:

  • Feel comfortable in what you wear

Stylish men strive to be the best dressed men in the room.

You gain on confidence by being well dressed and comfortable in your own attire.

A smart man knows that his appearance is a reflection of his values, his lifestyle and what he stands for.

When you buy clothes, the most important thing to have in mind is the fit.

It doesn’t matter what the price is, stylish men know that if the garment doesn’t have the perfect fit, the price tag wouldn’t matter.

The real value of clothes is reflected by the way you wear them. Well-fitted clothes will make you look stylish and make you feel comfortable. As a result, those garments will become the most worn garments in your wardrobe.

  • Dress for your body type, the events and the weather

It doesn’t matter if you are a skinny guy or a large one, you should always dress to complement your body. I can’t stress that enough, bulky or overly tight clothes just make you look silly.

When you dress though, keep in mind the event you will be attending. If it is a more formal one, pick more formal clothes. If it is a very casual one, you could getaway with your sneakers, jeans and the hoodie.

Dress appropriately for the weather too. It doesn’t matter if you want to show what you did at the gym, wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt in middle of winter is just ridiculous.

  • Workout clothes are for working out only

Tracksuits and tank tops are gym equipment.

You shouldn’t rush out the gym with those clothes to go meet your friends for some drinks at the local bar.

Yet many men think it is okay to wear tracksuits of one of the most famous brands out there, such as Nike, Adidas, Puma etc.

Even though they provide the most comfort, you should leave them for the gym only.

Or at best, you can wear them when you are home too, since they really are comfortable on the body.

  • Befriend your tailor

A stylish man understands the importance of having a very skilled tailor attending his wardrobe. Get your clothes adjusted to fit your body properly. Pants, shirt, the whole works.

Having properly fitted clothes will not only make you look more stylish, but will make you more comfortable and will increase your confidence in return.

  • A grooming routine

Whether it is a weekly or a monthly one, a stylish man always has a grooming routine. I have addressed these in this article and stressed out the importance of being well-groomed.

Nobody likes uni-brows, nose hair or huge, sharp nails. Have them taken care of.

  • Clothing maintenance

A stylish man knows how to wash his clothes. Especially delicate garments like sweaters. You should also shine your shoes, know how to iron your clothes to stay wrinkle-free and how to change broken or missing buttons.

Just like with grooming, you should schedule the maintenance of your clothes as well. Shine your shoes once a week or wash your shirts after 2-3 wears.

Pick what works best for you and stick to it. But remember, early mornings are probably the worst time to clean your shoes or iron your shirts. You do not want to be late for work just because you were lazy to do your clothes the night before.

No one is same in the world. So what works for some, might not work for others. Try different things and different schedules and see what works best for you. It takes time, patience and consistency to form a habit. And when you do form a habit of being a very stylish man, you will reap the benefits that come with it.
