Breakfast ideas

Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?

You have probably heard of the expression that “ breakfast is the most important meal of the day ”, but what should you eat after you wake up every morning?

Regardless if you are a regular guy, student or a working man, skipping meal in the morning can have negative effects throughout the day and make you eat more with your next meals, which isn’t what you want, especially if you are into losing weight.

Here are some ideas on how to start your day:

  • Water – after you wake up, drink a glass of water.

Water helps flush out the toxins out of your body, it starts up your metabolism and hydrates you due to the fact that your body dehydrate during the night.

  • Orange juice – during the night the body falls into a catabolic state, since you do not eat anything while you sleep.

So a glass of juice will restore some of the sugars that have been lost during the night.

Fitness coaches recommend having a protein shake after you wake up to make up for the loss of protein as well.

  • Fruit – eating fruit in the morning helps in weight-loss, stimulates the digestive tract and energizes your body.
It boosts your immune system too, due to the high amounts of vitamins and antioxidants.
  • Oats and yogurt – it is probably the best choice for a morning breakfast. Oats are very nutritious and are a good source of fiber and carbs.

They are rich in antioxidants and mixing them with yogurt will aid in digestion, easing your stomach troubles. An oatmeal like this will aid in weight-loss and make you feel full for longer.

  • Eggs – the number one choice among  bodybuilders, eggs are very nutritious and high in protein.

With a high satiety index, consuming eggs make you feel full for longer.

But be careful not to consume too many egg yolks and stick to egg whites to satisfy your body’s need for protein.

Eggs also aid in weight-loss.

  • Cottage cheese – it has long been a favorite food among athletes and people who try to watch their weight.

Cottage cheese is extremely rich in protein, high in calcium, vitamins A and B and is relatively low in fat.

Breakfast is a matter of preference for many men.

Some prefer a cup of coffee and a couple croissants from the local bakery, others go for bacon and eggs or even skip the whole breakfast.

But keep in mind what types of vitamins and nutrients you consume and always choose what works best for you and your body.
