A Gentleman’s Lifestyle

Timeless style, grooming, etiquette and buy-it-for-life advice for modern men

About

A Gentleman’s Lifestyle is an independent guide to men’s style, grooming, etiquette, home and travel, built around one idea: buy less, buy better, and learn to do things well.

We started the site in 2021 to give men straightforward, practical advice without the hype: how a suit should fit, which wardrobe basics actually last, how to care for leather and wool, how to tip, host or give a toast without overthinking it.

A modern gentleman is thoughtful, well put together, and loves quality over hype.

What you’ll find here

  • Style: wardrobe foundations, fit, fabrics, and how to put outfits together.
  • Health & grooming: shaving, skin care, fitness habits and routines that are easy to keep up.
  • Lifestyle: etiquette, home, travel, and buy-it-for-life gear.
  • Dating: confidence, first impressions and dressing for the occasion.

Who we are

The site is written and edited by The Gentleman, the pen name of its founder. For more than 20 years he has helped people find quality clothing and outfitter goods: heirloom-quality pieces built to last, including through the men’s fashion and lifestyle brand he founded. Along the way he learned that quality items last and hold their value, while fast fashion is a short-term fix. He still wears a Christian Dior tuxedo from the 1980s and two pairs of shoes he’s owned for more than 30 years, each resoled twice.

Our standards

Every article is written or edited by a person, and we update older guides when advice or products change. We don’t accept paid posts. Read our Editorial Policy & Disclosures for how we choose products and how the site is funded.
