Find motivation by following these four simple and easy steps:
Step #1: Discover the reasons behind your low motivation
The first step toward increasing your energy levels is to find the cause. Low motivation may often be a result of physical fatigue, insufficient sleep, poor diet and eating habits, or maybe job (un)satisfaction and low pay.
As you are skipping your breakfast and relying too much over caffeine and junk food, causing the energy decline after a day ends.
Or You are not getting quality sleep, less than 7 hours, significantly affecting your energy and motivation.
One more reason can be that your routine work has become so monotonous that you are not feeling motivated or challenged.
Sometimes it can be the overwhelming thoughts, emotional clutter–unresolved worries and constant comparison that is draining your enthusiasm and energy.
Regardless of the reason, the first step is finding what hinders you and address it. There’s no way around it.
Step #2: If the cause is physical in nature – take care of your body
If your motivation feels rooted in fatigue, it means your body needs care.
Start with rest, movement and nourishment.
If you ever feel tired, then get some good night’s sleep. Sometimes, we feel emotionally exhausted or ‘out of gas’, and a quality sleep can often significantly improve your mood and focus.
A quality sleep can do more than any other therapy. It restores your focus more than hours of forced effort ever will.
A fresh calm mind and energetic body are more open to motivation and positive thinking.
Try going out for a walk frequently, or visit the gym and stress your body to release the negative energy to get yourself pumped up.
Incorporate a gentle exercise and walk into your routine. Take a refreshing 30 minutes walk through nature or landscape. Start with a light workout leading to gentle cardio, stretching and slight weightlifting. These small physical movements can release all stress and tension and improve the mood naturally.
Nourishment is as important as other factors. Following a nutrient-dense diet containing vitamins, lean proteins, minerals, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates are crucial for sustained energy, improved immune and mental health.
Step #3 If you have a problem with self-esteem – think thoroughly why
Find motivation by digging in deeper into your self-consciousnesses. Oftentimes low self-esteem can be a cause for low energy levels.
It’s time to stop thinking that you’re not good enough or out of shape, and start doing things that will change this mindset for the better. Think about what you want to achieve and put in some effort to succeed in it.
Step #4. Find small things that motivate you
When you have a bad day, start by repairing it with small stuff. Treat yourself with something that brings comfort and happiness–like a hot cup of coffee or tea, a piece of dark chocolate, a bowl of fresh fruits or a handful of nuts.
If you want a relaxed evening, offer yourself a cup of herbal tea, a warm mug of cocoa and sparkling water with mint or lemon instead of turning to alcohol. These soothing drinks will help you to regain your energy and keep you refreshed.
These four little steps are a great start to help you find motivation when you’re energy levels are depleted. These small mindful acts can make a big difference in how you feel and can be a spark that gently brings back positive energy and motivation.Try them and see for yourself.
